Our kitchen uses food that would otherwise head to landfill to cook nutritious meals, providing them for free to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Food Preparation and Redistribution
Every week, our incredible volunteer chefs prepare over 1,000 meals using 100% surplus food—rescued ingredients that would otherwise go to waste.
Working with whatever ingredients are available, our volunteers create culturally relevant nutritious meals, ensuring every dish meets high standards of quality and taste. These meals are then distributed through our network of local charities and community organisations, reaching those who need them most.
Friday evening dining from the Surplus Kitchen
Our team are ready to serve you each Friday evening 6-9pm at our hub, based at Sunbury Cricket Club. Our chefs prepare a fresh menu to choose from each week – come down and see for yourself what our dedicated team create! And remember, for each meal you buy you help us to provide another to those in need (Buy One Feed One Free). What a fantastic initiative!

Our dedicated and and hardworking kitchen team ensure that we can efficiently prepare and distribute meals using surplus food. From sorting and preparing ingredients to cooking and packaging meals, our volunteers bring energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to making a difference.
